The party pants strike again! It's a funny feeling to walk down the street and know people are staring at your lustrous blue legs. It's even more funny when someone makes a comment liking your pants, and when you unbeknowlingly ignore them because your mind is elsewhere, they call you mean and grumble at New Yorkers' rudeness. Many apologies, I didn't realize you were talking to me! Anyhow, I'm probably not supposed to be sitting on the edge of my roof, but it's the absolute best place to sit and watch the sunset when one is too lazy to actually walk to the promenade. It gives the illusion of being more precarious than it is though; it's quite forgiving on clumsy folks like yours truly.

Oh yeah, back to clothes. I've had this sweater for a couple years now, and it's one of those pieces I completely forget about until I dig it up from behind a chunky sweater somewhere or other one day. And then I proceed to wear it every other day. You know, the usual. It's a perfect blend of patterned, mini-sequined, iridescent goodness though, and I enjoy it thoroughly. I may not be posting for a few days because I'm leaving tomorrow on a retreat to Jersey, but I'll post more pictures when I get back! Pinky promise. Have a lovely evening! It is now time to immerse myself in brownies! photo DSCN1772_zps645ceb86.jpg photo DSCN1764_zpsf5d93cc5.jpg photo c1674c8f-7f39-43aa-b0c2-1e4317bf6400_zpsbe042a9e.jpg photo c4f046f1-e379-49c9-a43f-65ffcc29e7d0_zpsb39e76f6.jpg photo f4da4555-ce9c-4328-a5ae-4278f7929faf_zpsa960ed55.jpg

'Twas cold out indeed. Maddie and I sped-walked down to the little Bowling Green Park after class and snapped a few photos because I actually remembered to bring my camera today! I've definitely been dressing like it's spring for the last couple weeks when it is very much not, yet there are no regrets. Plus, these pants always remind me of lima beans and cabbage and all things vegetable-related, which is always a bonus. I've been terrible at going over to Battery Park this semester, but if you have a chance to, it's got the best views of the Statue of Liberty and Jersey which should not be missed! The spot with the blue lanterns is my favorite though: it's got this fantastical feel to it at night and that's absolutely beautiful. photo DSCN1708_zps84f87612.jpg

Carefree and makeup-less weekends are lovely. My apologies for this short post, I feel sick and drowsy and it's now officially tea time. Working with sniffly-nosed kiddies every week definitely has its downfalls, but ya gotta love the little munchkins!

Elbow Patches Are Exciting

 photo DSCN1638_zps4bdf4482.jpg
Dress: F21 via Buffalo Exchange [Mary's]
Cardigan: F21 w/ iron-on Thatcher crest [$20]
Boots: Urban Outfitters [$20]
Belt: Thrift Store [25 cents]

Hooray for long dresses that add extra leg coverage, even if they induce clumsiness and tripping while walking up the subway steps! If the dress look slightly frumpy in the frontal area, that's because I had to manipulate the length to make it more appropriate for my frame, and in doing so, chose to forego streamlinededness and just deal with the pouf. So that's that. We have a House System at my school [think Harry Potter] and I'm in the illustrious house of the Iron Lady, hence the cardigan with ELBOW PATCHES. Oh, how I enjoy elbow patches. I just find them wildly entertaining, even though I have a hard time matching the patch to my elbow (working on that). And oh man, the little kids that have elbow patches? Gets me every time. Time to bring forth creative skills while watching The Royal Tenenbaums! Happy rainy Saturday to you! photo DSCN1636_zps3f9ebb74.jpg photo DSCN1641_zpsc0f18938.jpg photo 02260625-b753-43cb-ba5c-3c7af46d2b45_zps6aec5c18.jpg photo 9392401d-87d3-4821-b97f-43c6fd564f3e_zpsbfaa5457.jpg photo 581e08b1-bbf5-4c16-b87a-d6bab27ee077_zpsac41979c.jpg

One: It is cold and windy.
Two: I am not very good at taking myself seriously.
Three: Watching Lord of the Rings sounds excellent right now.
That is all! I guess I could talk about my clothes and life and stuff...but...it's time to eat the last of the crockpot lasagna instead! Oh beautiful delicious cheesy tomato-y goodness. And watch NCIS because I have no self control.

And Then Come the Aliens

The picture is very Day-After-Tomorrow, but it looked awesome from the rooftop! I've been extremely lazy with dressing for the past few months because I haven't had the time to put a creative outfit together, and also because it's been especially arctic. The wind is always what gets ya. I'm feeling especially lazy today, so it's time for Mary's illustrious garlic mashed potatoes to be consumed without haste. So....so.....gooood. photo 73439a5f-8287-4b39-9d4e-516d1de59b22_zpsb9e9b93f.jpg photo 079d2424-7de3-4bf2-a4d7-c1c16a3667f0_zps24a54621.jpg photo b0529178-42f4-4733-ba80-c5caf60d0feb_zps479408f1.jpg photo 46f7dc7e-f3c7-4288-9eb6-61114e5a6e69_zpsaee9f915.jpg photo db0bb9b8-9ec8-45ab-9598-993f6613196c_zpse75d535e.jpg

It's a Beautiful Day in This Neighborhood

Yesterday my internship was let out early and the opportunity arose to go on a long-awaited walk down to the Brooklyn Bridge Park. They've been doing construction on the piers for a couple years now, and I can't wait for them to finish all the grand plans. Really though, I want them to finish before I'm done with college so I can bask in its beauty! If you ever get the chance, I highly suggest that you hightail it over to the park because it's a sight to be seen. It's always cool too, when people shoot commercials looking at the NY skyline and I know exactly where they were. So go and explore! And bring a book because it's pretty. And bring gloves, so your fingers don't freeze and fall off. And don't get in the way of runners, or you'll regret it immensely.

Chillin' Out Back and Relaxin' All Cool

 photo DSCN1556_zpsb7492c21.jpg
Coat: Abercrombie&Fitch [a gift]
Hoodie: Uniqlo [$10]
Long Sleeve: Old Navy [$3]
Skirt: Kirna Zabete for Target [$9]
Sweater tights: tights sample sale [$3]
Boots: Costco [a gift]
Backpack: Urban Outfitters [a gift]

I didn't realize how cold it would be yesterday, but the hoodie added an extra measure of warmth to a deceptively sunny day. The ultimate comfort clothing for me is the skirt/dress/tights combo to avoid wearing pants as much as possible. Plus I like to sit cross-legged at any given occasion, and a skirt+tights getup is the perfect way to sit for hours and not have your legs deprived of oxygen. I'm still trying to not look as awkward in photos, and while I think I've made an ounce of progress, it's still pretty apparent. Baby steps. Have a beautiful Sunday!
