Let's Go to Beach Beach

There are the quintessential California beaches with tan-skinned folks everywhere, surfboards dotting the waves, and piers with all kinds of goods. Huntington Beach is fun to see and be seen, Laguna and Newport Beach are lovely, Corona del Mar is the beach where I spent most of my childhood, but my current favorite has been Crystal Cove. Nestled between Corona del Mar and Laguna Beach, it's easy to pass while coasting PCH. But man oh man, this place is beautiful. The masses of seaweed make it harder to swim, but because of all of it, you're much more likely to spot seals and dolphins. We came at sunset to take in the view and throw a frisbee around. More pictures to come on the morrow! photo eaab5db7-443f-4bc0-b4a4-680ede699135_zpsbea50bcd.jpg photo 19f35679-1ab6-410b-9087-bf753899cac1_zps27443ca5.jpg photo 43b60d10-b150-4685-96a7-206e881752ed_zps08bb3f8a.jpg photo 7f378a20-4f90-42d3-8301-8818c3b4e97c_zps962d9dda.jpg photo DSCN4299_zps53a14c09.jpg photo DSCN4293_zpsa6472cb3.jpg photo 3569012b-598d-481e-aa72-311159f53607_zps50ce22b1.jpg

A haphazard photo post from a haphazard photo shoot of approximately 4 minutes and 30 seconds. I didn't feel like staying still, so the moving commenced.

Blue x Blue x Blue

 photo DSCN4262_zps209ecefc.jpg
Outer dress: Urban Outfitters [$5]
Inner dress: Urban Outfitters [$5]
Sandals: Urban Outfitters [$10]
Shades: Armani Exchange [a Christmas gift]
Ring: borrowed from Mary

I wore this getup to my cousin's high school graduation. The first time I wore this combination, it was an accident. For the longest time, I was trying to figure out how to wear the outer dress because it's beautiful but as substantial as kleenex. And then the inner dress with its basketball jersey-likeness was accidentally shrunken in the dryer, and my blue dress dreams came crashing to a halt. But then lo and behold, I layered the two together one days for kicks, and voila! A new ensemble of blueness was born. The shoes were worn simply because I have two sandal options to choose from and had to go with something, and the ring was added to try and make the shoes more cohesive with the rest of the outfit. I don't know if it was a success or not, but the whole getting-re-tanned-during-summer thing is definitely working out!

Little Wolves

 photo DSCN4232_zps9af58865.jpg
Dress: Buffalo Exchange [borrowed from Daisy]
Sandals: Urban Outfitters [$10]

Sorry for the lack of smiles. It was hot and sunshiney and I felt sluggish and squinty. But I borrowed Dais's dress for church and it was a fun one! Even if I'm not a fan of felines because they make my features swell up to cartoonish proportions, it's hard to pass up on a good 'ol wolf dress. Especially one that's already hanging in my sister's closet.

Easter Hues in Summer

 photo DSCN4216_zps4e27db9d.jpg
Blouse: Urban Outfitters [clothing exchange]
Jeans: Urban Outfitters [$5]
Sandals: Urban Outfitters [$10]

A nice and simple outfit that's pale enough to not attract heat and loose enough to be comfortable. I've always liked jewelry, but quite honestly, I always forget to buy it or talk myself out of it. Or I just forget to wear the jewelry I have because I'm constantly late. I guess that's why I rely on colors so much! On another note, LET'S GO SPURS. I'm a Laker's girl myself, but truth be told, I'm good with any team winning that is not the Miami Heat. Ugh.  photo 62f88bc8-e475-48ed-bf6e-ef9ce27cd3d2_zps2b858b2b.jpg photo 129b7ad9-c412-49b0-81e4-b0f03c7fbf8d_zps168bd21a.jpg photo DSCN4225_zps60fe62e6.jpg photo DSCN4227_zpsa5482921.jpg

Exploding Kaleidoscope Orchids

 photo 91b335fa-e5cf-463b-9e0b-40f866f609cc_zps3673877c.jpg
Dress: Prabal Gurung for Target [$11]
Belt: thrift store [25 cents]
Sneakers: Vans [a gift from many moons ago]

The first time I saw this dress, I was a gonner. It's loud, colorful, neon, and oh so printed. Not to mention crew necked and flouncy. My mom saw me wear it and had to stop for a second and regroup. One of the coolest parts though, is that the two dress is composed of two different fabrics. The top t-shirt part is cotton, and the bottom part is a smooth poly-blend (think chiffon). So great. And so twirlable.  photo 94086571-fad6-4a6f-a834-e44c0d48b94a_zps4ec3d611.jpg photo DSCN4186_zps40e2a51b.jpg photo 6f228b5d-c0b7-4ae7-b984-ab9091885ab4_zpsf8d14a63.jpg photo ae63bbc6-985d-4cdb-baca-8b34d3ebb5ad_zps3a66c147.jpg photo DSCN4211_zpscabb96aa.jpg photo DSCN4202_zps1fd6f46e.jpg

In-N-Out Shorts

 photo DSCN4161_zpsee900517.jpg
Blouse: Urban Outfitters [$5]
Shorts: Old Navy [$12.50]
Sandals: Urban Outfitters [$10]

I splurged on these shorts because I couldn't pass on a pair of cutoffs reminiscent of In-N-Out. During those gloomy and frozen impending New York days, I'll pull out these shorts and think about the beach, boba, cheap but delicious burgers, and warm sunshine. These Old Navy Shorts are awesome, and bonus: are not super tight either. Three cheers for California themed shorts! photo DSCN4159_zps5047a11d.jpg photo 6e567293-a15f-42a8-8cdb-331e96c7935c_zps584fd337.jpg photo 28f01cc2-b425-449d-8226-0e9d58929c4f_zpse89144e5.jpg photo 98094cfc-3397-4fc4-9a5b-723e81b3c5bf_zps997a009a.jpg photo 6be59cb7-131f-4934-9b97-028c2c939ad9_zps27f6aae7.jpg
