Crocheted Plus Long Sleeveness

IMG_3171

Shirt: from Epic Thrift [$4]
Shorts: American Eagle via Epic Thrift [$4]
Tank (underneath): F21 [$1.80]
Flats: H&M [$17 *I had a giftcard!*]
Bracelets: both a gift from my internship

I've been loving these lacy weightless tops but everything had been very much out of my price range until Khue found this beauty for me while thrifting Memorial Day weekend. Albeit there's a hole that I need to patch up along the sleeve, but minor details! I've also been meaning to find a pair of denim shorts that aren't too short and tight and voila, thrifting was successful once more! If you don't have the patience for thrift shopping, I recommend going with someone who does. If you stick it out, you can find yourself some lovely souvenirs.

I have a love/hate relationship with these flats in that every time I wear them, I love how they look. They're such a minimalist shoe, but then the entire band is glitter so it's never boring. However, they cut up the back of my heels like nobody's business so I only wear them while walking short distances. Lame. Breaking in shoes suck, but we shall prevail! I've also been into delicate jewelry lately which is pretty fun but also slightly worrisome since I'm accident prone and lose/break/demolish everything I own. Ah well, we'll see how I last!

Also: MARY COMES HOME ON FRIDAY! Happy happy day! Although I love the bed to myself, I suppose I don't mind sharing all that much.

Newness!

Here's a few new things that I got recently that I just decided to take pictures of on my bed. Sneak peeks and stuff! As you can see, the theme is essentially lace. I used to think the crop top trend was dumb, but I'm really starting to like boxy crop tops layered over dresses. They're the perfect amount of coverage while still defining the waist (and not making me look any shorter). If it sounds weird, just give it a try and see for yourself!

Skorts are A+

IMG_3082

Skort: F21 [$20]
Shirt: Urban Outfitters [$6]
Necklace: Swarovski [a graduation gift]
Shoes: Pro-Keds via Costco [a gift from my mom]

I know skorts are nothing new and the Zara version was worn by all the bloggers just a few months ago...but who cares? Skorts are awesome. Gotta love me some fancy shorts where I don't have to worry about flashing anyone. This is probably one of my favorite combinations: a black and white pattern with a simple but colorful shirt to break it up a bit. The necklace is a new addition that I'm gonna be wearing a whole lot. My lovely and generous internship boss gave it to me as a graduation present and I've been wearing it nonstop because of it's nice and minimalist but still slightly bling-y and super pretty.

Bare Legs and Heels

IMG_3009

Sweater: Target [$6]
Skirt: Target [$7]
Heels: Target [$9]
Necklace & Ring: Swarovski [graduation gifts]
Bracelet: [an intern gift]

As you can see, I love Target. Target is the best. Know what else is the best? Bare legs and warm weather. After a bitterly cold New York winter of layering and massive marshmallow jackets, California weather is very much welcome. Please excuse my pale-ness; I'll get tan soon, promise! I've been shopping a bit too much lately (whoops), but that also means I have a whole lot of new stuff to wear and photograph!

Happy Memorial Day to you! I hope yours was lovely. It's now time for me to finally indulge in some  all you can eat Korean BBQ, so see you on the other side.

Welcome Back, Stranger!

IMG_2675
Man oh man, I'm sorry it's been such a long time.

The truth is, I kind of forgot I had this here blog. This past semester was insanely busy with a bunch of different commitments, but since my last post, I'm GRADUATED! Cue the doves and fireworks! Actually I feel pretty much exactly the same but it's nice to think about being done regardless. After three years of hard work I decided to reward myself with a restful summer before diving full force into the workman's world. Although admittedly, I'm already getting a little bored.

Anyhow, these are photos from winter break that I had yet to post (so sorry!), so in this one massive post of three different outfits, I'll try to compensate a bit. Onwards!

Photoset 1: I Wore Mary's Clothes

Sweater: Urban Outfitters [borrowed from Mary]
Short: Old Navy [from many moons ago]
Tights: tights sample sale [$1]
Boots: Piperlime [$40]

Photoset 2: Se7ven Leaves

Dress: from Kelly via clothing exchange
Cardigan: Urban Outfitters [$15...when I didn't use to be so frugal in high school]
Tights: $1 [tights sample sale]
Boots: Piperlime [$40]

As you can see, I drink a ton of boba when I'm home. This dress is the prettiest and airiest thing ever and a tremendously fun thing to wear. The beading at the collar is actually part of the dress and not a necklace. Kelly does good with her dresses! And man oh man am I thankful that we're the same size. Whenever I want to wear a dress but need to cover up its sleeveless-ness, I like to layer something under or over yet still accentuate my waist somehow. In this case, I wore a normal cardigan and twisted and knotted the thing in the back to make some sort of wrap. High fives all around for versatility!

Photoset 3: Haircuts, Denim, and Chiffon

Shirt: Ann Taylor LOFT [from Elise]
Skirt: F21 [$6]
Shoes: Pro-Keds from Costco [from my mom]

A quick outfit that I threw together that seemed to make sense at the time is slightly more questionable in retrospect. Ah well! I go through phases of wearing certain pieces almost every day and this shirt was one of those. Oh man, I love this shirt. Surplice cut (which means that one side crosses the other), polka dots, and soft polyester goodness--all such good things.

Also, isn't Daisy's haircut the cutest? I think so too.

Whoohoo, you made it! I congratulate you and bestow unto you a virtual gold star. All photos were taken by Daisy unless they feature her. Then I took those. That's all for now folks!
