Old Lady Threads

IMG_3521
Romper: thrifted? [hand-me-down from Khue]
Belt: Target [67 cents]
Sandals: H&M [$17]

Nothing like a old school romper to get the party started! My wardrobe has grown exponentially this year, but it's not because I've been shopping more...well not mostly anyway. People always ask where I get my clothes and are always surprised when half the time I tell them that most of what I wear are hand-me-downs. Hand-me-downs are the absolute best. Other than free clothes, there's something nice in wearing something and remembering who gave it to me and at what time. It's sentimental, but I'll take it!

Them Boots

IMG_3494
Blouse: H&M [hand-me-down from Jo]
Skort: F21 [$20 *I had a giftcard!]
Boots: Target [$11]
Ring: from Mary from Tibet

The boots are back! This may actually be one of their last appearances; they're pretty shabby and sad now. These boots have served me well and traveled all throughout Orange County and New York City. Nothing like a good ankle boot to complete any and all outfits. This was a simple outfit for a simple day of watching Chuck all day on Netflix. Obsessed is putting it mildly.

Lavender Looks

IMG_3479
Shirt: Urban Outfitters [$10]
Shorts: Old Navy [$12?]
Flats: H&M [$17]

I stalked this shirt on sale for maybe a month and a half before I finally found one in my size at the right price. The lavender/crochet/open backness is all sorts of fun and summery and goodness. A typical summer outfit for a typical summer day: lots of Netflix and a trip to Target.

The Audrey Dress

IMG_3446
Dress: H&M [Joy's dress from the clothing exchange]
Sneakers: Pro-Keds via Costco [from my mom]
Skinny Rose Gold ring: Swarovski [a graduation gift]
Thick Silver ring: Thatcher ring [senior grad gift]
Turquoise ring: silver ring from Tibet [a gift from Mary]
Brown Leather bracelet: Gigi NY [intern gift]
Geometric bracelet: [intern gift]

To downplay the dressiness of the dress, I wore my white sneakers to make it a bit more California friendly. I've never been a huge jewelry person, I really only started wearing jewelry a couple months ago, but what I love about jewelry is how there's usually a story behind it. It's nice to look down at my hands and arms, see a certain ring or bracelet, and think about the people and experiences behind it. I mean, isn't that half the point of fashion in the first place? Maybe not for everyone, but it is for me at least!

Highlighter Pink

IMG_3251
Dress: F21 [$13]
Shirt: F21 via Epic Thrift [$2.50]
Flats: Old Navy [$3]

Layering has followed me back from New York dressing, but I can't say that I protest. This dress is all kinds of bright but I love it just for that. And I'll probably be wearing it a whole ton throughout the summer. Whoop whoop!

Springtime in the Summer

IMG_3214

Blouse: Lauren Conrad via Epic Thrift [$5]
Pants: H&M [$5]
Heels: Target [$9]
Necklace: Swarovski [a gift]

This blouse is all things light, airy, and pretty, so I thought it was fitting to pair it with pinkish printed trousers. I felt very spring-y and pastel-y which is usually never a bad thing. Also because I'm weird and I think animal print is essentially a neutral, I paired my favorite (ok, I really only have two pairs) heels with the getup.

If you can't tell, I came back with quite the haul from Epic Thrift. Seriously though, that place is great and if I lived in Arizona, all the workers there would know me by name and point out the weird girl who pretty much lives at the store to all the newbies. Yeupp.

Minty Scalloped Edges

IMG_3188

Shirt: Urban Outfitters [$10]
Skirt: Urban Outfitters [$15]
Flats: Old Navy [$3]
Rings: thin band, Swarovski [a grad gift]; silver band, House of Thatcher senior ring [a gift]
Bracelet: [an intern gift]

Lace crop tops are the best! For one, they're the perfect cover-up without being too heavy. For two, they're just pretty and easy to wear. This one has a scalloped bottom and a slightly longer sleeve too, SCORE. I wore this while working with my mom on Wednesday. It's funny how sometimes it was a drag to dress in business casual every day in college but now it seems like the most natural thing to wear and 82% of my closet is composed of it. I'm glad I got these flats for $3 at Old Navy too, but the break-in process once again is no fun.
