Snow. In March. Gosh.

Jacket: I can't recall the brand! [a gift]
Sweater: Urban Outfitters [$10]
Jeans: Urban Outfitters [$5]
Shoes: Old Navy [$13]

I've definitely been getting my wear out of these pants, they're so versatile! Well, I think so at least. I can't wait to wear them in the summer with sandals and sneakers. It was snowing ferociously yesterday morning, but by the time I got home from school, it was marvelous out! And today, gosh: today was beautiful. Fifty degrees of glorious sunshine! I headed to Hoboken with lovely company and we all ate a slice of the largest pizza in Jersey and then got cannolis from Carlos's Bakery (the guy from Cake Boss). Man oh man, twas good. Sadly, I don't have any photos because I forgot to bring a camera and don't have an iphone to document errthing, but ah well! It was a wonderful day, and I'm starting to like Jersey more and more. It's a beautiful state. Okay, time to head back to reality...screw it. Time to watch You've Got Mail. Have a great Saturday night! photo 91691ef8-9bee-4575-8e42-a37d47a9decb_zps544110f5.jpg photo DSCN1884_zpsf75eb43d.jpg photo DSCN1866_zps081b0b0a.jpg photo 73d42e82-a1d1-435a-892f-af1efee79a81_zpsdcff52bf.jpg photo f8118299-bea0-4588-9997-2185919a491c_zps82644ef4.jpg photo DSCN1872_zps061ee67b.jpg photo e4a8ccd7-8931-4694-aa0a-52cf697aecb0_zps1ab15cd3.jpg

It's Just an Illusion

 photo 0da05576-d279-4637-b4f4-1f8913aeefb7_zpsfefa4ff8.jpg
Dress: H&M [$7]
Blazer: Urban Outfitters [$10]
Heels: Ross [$13]
Tights: sample sale [$2]
Necklace: F21 [$6]

Whoops, a very much repeated outfit! I realized though and threw on this nifty blazer and broke out the heels because a. I wouldn't wear them any other time and b. because I thought I could shake it up a bit! I know, I live life on the edge. I secured this blazer from UO years ago and thought it was awesome, but because of the shoulder pads and their stigma in public high school, I was always too self-conscious to wear it. I'd center an outfit around it, and then throw it off at the last moment and settle for a tried and true cardigan. I'm weak. But New York is great because the sartorial culture is much more professional and forgiving on more eccentric ensembles. Or, at least I think it is! Time to study for midterms and read finish The Aeneid! Greek tragedies are something else, I tell you. photo a11e74a8-4e40-4a1c-9052-08482d21d993_zps58c4d408.jpg photo c8e4821d-6251-478a-a30c-c08b0a9bc0c1_zpsfd57edca.jpg photo f82cfda7-9a07-4f4f-acba-d63e5e83ef61_zps6bddba62.jpg photo 7a04c8ac-0e4f-4c71-8fa0-709328700dc8_zps397378d8.jpg

Winterized Botanicals

 photo DSCN1813_zpsa204ed68.jpg
Dress: a brand I can't recall! [a gift]
Tights: sample sale [$2]
Boots: Target via Salvation Army [$5]
Belt: thrift store [25 cents]

I've never been one to regulate the clothes in my wardrobe by seasons. Shorts in the fall? Yes! Long sleeves during the summer? Bring it on. Flowery dresses in the final days of winter? Oh yeah. This dress is more versatile though, because of its darker hues and moodier feel. If dresses were allowed to be moody, this would be one. These days I pretty much dress solely for comfort. My creative juices have been lacking due to winter weather, climate-sensitive California blood, and constantly being late and having 10 minutes to look at least somewhat presentable, but hopefully that'll change come summer! Ahhh, I'll let myself daydream about the beach in a couple months, but until then, 4-minute rooftop photoshoots with frozen fingers will suffice until the warmer days come a'comin!  photo DSCN1811_zpsd94cc32b.jpg photo 8de6d078-7dbf-4395-83d9-f69e0ddc920f_zps1431031b.jpg photo DSCN1807_zps3d5a4e0f.jpg photo 26e6f1d5-dae8-4e87-b225-8e0f2f9d1c44_zps0b9f5152.jpg photo 7cda6330-d3e6-4926-aff5-527d51cb7db5_zps1a3d25c6.jpg

Graphing Paper

 photo DSCN1793_zpsa8f24fbe.jpg
Button-up: Target [$5]
Pencil Skirt: H&M [$7]
Tights: sample sale [$2]
Boots: Target via Salvation Army [$5]
Sunglasses: Armani [a gift from mi madre]

I love the look of pencil skirts, but constantly readjusting and tugging at the hem is exasperating. The shirt is great though, because it's reminiscient of graph paper, and I'm always tempted to draw econ charts on it at school. Or was tempted when I still took econ, ha! I'm pretty sure my professor has one just like it too, go figure! Have a great night, I'm off to babysit for the evening!

On the Edge

 photo DSCN1749_zpsf6652b03.jpg
Sweater: UO [$10]
Jeans: UO [$5]
Boots: Costco [a gift]
Bracelet: a gift from China
Watch: Timex

The party pants strike again! It's a funny feeling to walk down the street and know people are staring at your lustrous blue legs. It's even more funny when someone makes a comment liking your pants, and when you unbeknowlingly ignore them because your mind is elsewhere, they call you mean and grumble at New Yorkers' rudeness. Many apologies, I didn't realize you were talking to me! Anyhow, I'm probably not supposed to be sitting on the edge of my roof, but it's the absolute best place to sit and watch the sunset when one is too lazy to actually walk to the promenade. It gives the illusion of being more precarious than it is though; it's quite forgiving on clumsy folks like yours truly.

Oh yeah, back to clothes. I've had this sweater for a couple years now, and it's one of those pieces I completely forget about until I dig it up from behind a chunky sweater somewhere or other one day. And then I proceed to wear it every other day. You know, the usual. It's a perfect blend of patterned, mini-sequined, iridescent goodness though, and I enjoy it thoroughly. I may not be posting for a few days because I'm leaving tomorrow on a retreat to Jersey, but I'll post more pictures when I get back! Pinky promise. Have a lovely evening! It is now time to immerse myself in brownies! photo DSCN1772_zps645ceb86.jpg photo DSCN1764_zpsf5d93cc5.jpg photo c1674c8f-7f39-43aa-b0c2-1e4317bf6400_zpsbe042a9e.jpg photo c4f046f1-e379-49c9-a43f-65ffcc29e7d0_zpsb39e76f6.jpg photo f4da4555-ce9c-4328-a5ae-4278f7929faf_zpsa960ed55.jpg
