Le Promenade

Fleece Half-Zip: Old Navy [$5]
Jeans: Bitten by SJP [$7]
Boots: Costco [a gift]

Finally, a change in scenery for you! The Brooklyn Bridge Promenade is shown at last! Hopefully I can get some different places in too, I just need to remember to bring my camera with me to school. The Promenade is one of those postcard-y places where every shot you take, even of the overflowing trashcan, looks artsy and sophisticated. Okay, maybe not so much sophisticated, but still. You can see the Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building, Downtown Skyline, Lady Liberty, Ellis Island, and Governor's Island. Ten points for Brooklyn!

Post-Snow/Brooklyn is Awesome/Oh Mr. Sunshine

Brooklyn Heights is one of those places that's almost too good to be true. It's honestly got everything. One train stop away from Manhattan, trees, the incredible Brooklyn Bridge Park, freaking fantastic bagels, a Target AND a Costco nearby, and it's next to everything. The fact that the promenade is steps away from the front door is incredible too, and I take it for granted so often it's disgusting. I'm so blessed to be living here, and it's days like this where I just marvel at the pleasantness of New York. Even with all the yellow snow spots on the ground.  photo c20f4160-a824-4995-97c4-bfd459616b2e_zps4e251110.jpg photo c5086acc-86e2-4ed1-8462-7326e9255592_zps3126d1c4.jpg photo DSCN1470_zps077b2607.jpg

It's a Snowin' Up in Here

Boots: Target via Salvation Army [$5]

Sorry about the delay of posts, I've been getting home too late to take decent pictures and there have been photo posting issues, but hopefully that's cleared up now!

The snow pictures were taken on Friday, since the best time to go out on the roof is during a blizzard in pajamas. It was gorgeous and worth every frozen extremity! Sorry about the crappy picture above too. Safe to say I do not look fresh at the end of a long day of work. Never have and never will, I'm sure! More photos soon, pinky swear.

The Audience is the Final Arbiter of Meaning

Sweater: re-gifted to me by my mommy
Jeans: Old Navy [$9]

Earrings: F21 [$1.50]

The title sounds way more deep than it actually is; it's just a line out of my Mass Communications book.   I used to think the sweater was a shocking shade of pink and took it from my mom only because she insisted. And then things changed. And it happened: I liked the color pink. And I was ashamed. And then pensive. And then at peace. And ever since, the shade has unabashedly been sneaking its way into my wardrobe. And for now, I shall sit back and just let it happen. photo 32b92b18-ab76-4764-92ca-64fc087b1933_zpse29aa08b.jpg photo 1b753fc1-e597-4fe9-8d0a-16e5ef316395_zpsa658b13f.jpg photo cd5b3adb-3116-4b3a-babb-189fe805b565_zps1d9422ba.jpg photo DSCN1408_zps71ee8d7f.jpg photo DSCN1392_zps9c3e873c.jpg

Rain Boots and Snow

Dress: Urban Outfitters [$5]
Black Shirt: F21 [$4]
Rain Boots: Amazon [$30]
Sweater Tights: a tights sample sale [$3]

My California-ness gets excited every time there's snow. Snow is amazing! Even if snow flurries stick to your hair and makes it look like dandruff in photos!

This dress is definitely verging on the long-shirt/tunic/inappropriatetowearwithoutpants territory, but I'm gonna beg your pardon and continue on my Spring-y streak. It's unshapely and slightly ugly too, which just makes it that much more fun to wear. The boots were a splurge from Amazon (my splurge is definitely different than everyone else's), and I accidentally ordered them too small, but I'm hoping that the odds will prevail and the rubber will stretch out and comfortably form to my feet. We'll see how that one goes! photo DSCN1383_zps12af6b9c.jpg photo DSCN1372_zps95be5e76.jpg photo c8836e9f-aa1f-4644-bc4f-6f854de36423_zps9a3cfacc.jpg photo DSCN1381_zpsd7130f9c.jpg photo 0981bef8-4ec3-42d5-9d8f-7206ae72a322_zps2ad8058b.jpg photo DSCN1379_zps7c2ebcd3.jpg

Hooray for wearing the same pants two days in a row!

I made chocolate banana bread yesterday, and because I have no self-control, it's almost all gone. Now excuse me as I annihilate the rest. Happy Monday!  photo fc9e14af-5a09-498b-a2f9-aefa41d3cae4_zpsf711c977.jpg photo 21fb2720-27b3-4820-b68f-78172a57510f_zpsbc5377b9.jpg photo db80af1c-d494-40f7-9efc-352b5b19155a_zpsa0edd8b0.jpg photo DSCN1370_zps38c92ead.jpg

San Fran

 photo DSCN1339_zps664217b2.jpg
Sweater: Gift shop in San Francisco [$10]
Denim shirt (underneath): Target [$5]
Jeans: Levi's via Urban Outfitters [$5]
Loafers: Urban Outfitters [$10]
Watch: Timex [a gift]
Bracelet: from China [a gift]
------------------------------
Total Cost: $30

Casually outfitted for a weekend of shopping and pizza consumption. It was a brilliant day out and temptingly sunny, but it was too good to be true: 'tis cold out there. Still, I'm in a spring kick, hence the Easter-y colors and hot pink slippers. The loafers are fun; before I got them a little scruffed up, they were blindingly pink and almost too much to handle. I never pegged myself as a girly girl of any sort, but I'm growing fonder and fonder of anything rose-hued.

The navy nail polish is actually magnetic! I really don't know what that entails, but I just painted my nails and hovered the magnetized cap over the paint for 15 seconds and voila, wavy lines! I'm still trying to figure it out. To no avail, so far.

It's chilly days like this where I miss California and it's wonderfully average temperatures! And the milk tea bona. You can't forget that masterpiece.  photo DSCN1347_zpsa3e1d86e.jpg photo d8d63504-d93d-4850-b97c-594927944b63_zps67ecf09f.jpg photo 3f1ee3e0-d288-4751-8d79-42f624923abc_zpsca77466b.jpg photo 0ddaee8b-6606-4c6a-b6ce-b60f294dec4f_zps3e95e25e.jpg
